Freelance fashion designer
From concept to collection
Freelance fashion designer specialized in men’s fashion
Evildesign is an independent fashion design studio by Eveline Nederveen, based in Scheveningen, The Hague.
Evildesign specialises in commercial menswear and sportswear collection development for established fashion brands, startups and creative entrepreneurs.
In a market that moves from one trend to the next, fashion brands need to anticipate market demand and respond quickly. As a freelance fashion designer, I have the needed (technical) knowledge of the men’s apparel market to create a successful men’s clothing line or to start a fashion brand from scratch. If you work with me, you’ll be fully involved in the process.
We’ll discuss each step, what you can expect, and which ideas appeal to you. As a fashion designer, I not only design clothes, but I also help you with the manufacturing process and everything that comes after that to get your clothing line completed on time.
My services
Developing a successful menswear collection requires a clear and well structured process. As your freelance fashion designer, I can support you throughout the full collection development process—from the first concept to the final samples.
Depending on your project, we will work through the following 6-step process:
1. Trend and color research:
We research relevant market developments, upcoming trends, colours and consumer needs. This creates a strong foundation for a collection that feels current while remaining true to your brand identity and target audience.
2. Brand research & story telling:
What is the story behind your collection?
Together, we develop a clear creative direction, including the collection theme, colour palette, visual language and overall mood. A strong concept creates consistency throughout the collection and helps your audience connect with the brand.
3. Design phase:
The concept is translated into commercial and distinctive garment designs.
During this phase, we focus on silhouettes, fabrics, colours, details, graphics and branding elements. Each design is developed with your customer, brand identity and intended price level in mind.
4. Clothing tech packs:
Once the designs are approved, Evildesign creates clear technical drawings and production-ready tech packs for clothing manufacturers.
These documents communicate how each garment should be produced and may include measurements, materials, colours, construction details, artworks, trims and finishing instructions.
5. Sampling process:
When the first samples arrive, we review whether the designs have been produced according to the specifications.
Evildesign can support you with sample fittings, detailed comments and product corrections. These adjustments help improve the fit, construction, quality and overall appearance of each garment before production.
6. Collection overview:
In the final phase, we review the collection as a whole.
Is the product mix balanced? Are the colours, styles and product groups working together? Are any key items still missing?
Evildesign helps you refine the collection and make the final adjustments needed to prepare it for production and launch.
